AEROPRESS BREW GUIDE
Aeropress is one of our favourite ways to brew coffee. Not only is it simple to use and robust, it also produces a great full bodied cup of coffee. We prefer to use the inverted Aeropress method which is detailed below.
BREW RECIPE
1-Cup
Coffee Dose 15g
Brew Water 225g
Ratio 1:15
Grind Fine/Medium
Time 2 minutes
ITEMS NEEDED
Aeropress, Coffee, Filtered Water, Grinder, Kettle, Scales, Timer
PREP
1. Weigh out 15g of coffee and grind if required to a medium/fine grind setting (similar to table salt).
2. Run some hot water over the filter paper with it placed in the cap.
3. Insert Aeropress plunger about 2cm into the Aeropress body and rotate the body onto a set of scales, see image.
4. Add your coffee into the brewer.
BREW
1. Boil a kettle of filtered water. Once the kettle has boiled wait 10 seconds.
2. Turn on your scales and start the timer. Take the just off boiled water and pour the required about of water on your coffee.
3. Stir the coffee with the provided stirrer, making sure all the coffee is saturated.
4. While the coffee is steeping add the cap with the filter paper onto the Aeropress body. Remove the brewer from the scales.
PRESS
1. After 90 seconds, place your cup upside down on top of the brewer and, with one hand on the brewer and one on the mug, carefully flip them over together.
2. Over the next 30 seconds slowly push down on the plunger until all the coffee has be expelled into the cup. You will hear a hissing sound when this has happened.
3. Empty and Rinse the Aeropress. Then enjoy your brew!
TOP TIP
Experiment with the grind size and brewing time to find the perfect taste for you.
