Coffee, Water, Grinder, Gooseneck Kettle, Scales, Timer
PREP
1. Weigh out your coffee (see above table) and grind medium fine if required.
2. Fold the filter into a cone shape and rinse it in the V60 with hot water to reduce any paper taste that it could cause.
3. Add your coffee into the V60, place the V60 and cup on a scale and zero the scales.
BLOOM
1. Boil a kettle of filtered water, wait 10 seconds after it has boiled.
2. Start your timer and pour around 30g of hot water over the coffee, aiming to leave no dry spots. you can gently swirl or stir the coffee to help wet it all. This is called the “bloom”, CO2 will bubble out of the coffee if it is freshly roasted and freshly ground.
POUR
1. Wait 30 seconds for the bloom, then slowly pour the rest of the water over the coffee in small circles.
2. Once you have poured all the water into the brewer, gently swirl or stir the coffee again.
3. Let the coffee drip through, the coffee bed should be flat. Finally, enjoy your brew!
